I have been very fortunate this year to photograph my family. Because I’m an only child, my family is consisted of mainly cousins, and two nieces. And I have a couple of cousins this year on their final year of school. My Sammy is one of them. She comes from Kenowa Hills High School and she likes hair, nail polish, animals, and Gucci Mane. Her dislikes: Horses.
Sam, there are no words that express how much I hold you close to my heart. I still keep your newborn picture on my desk. Going through your session has brought tears to my eyes because I still can’t believe what a beautiful young lady you have become, and I’m so fortunate to see you continue to grow. I know deep down in my heart that you will go to many places and experience amazing things. I love you more than you may understand now, but I know someday you will. Until then, I want you to make the best out of your final year in high school.
xoxo
This handsome young man comes from Kellogsville High School and his likes? Video games, band, Yoshi, and board games in general. What I love about this kid? Everything! He’s my cousin, Brandon, and he always puts a smile on my face. His plans after high school is going to school for game design and touring the country of Japan where he will train as a skilled ninja, then take over the world. :)
Brandon, I’m so proud of you and I hope your final year as a year is unforgettable. I want you to enjoy every minute of it. I love you tons!!!
David is an athletic young man coming from the class of 2011 at Forest Hills Eastern. He has played hockey for many years and enjoys watching football. His plans after high school are to attend Northern Michigan University. We met at Robinette’s Apple Orchard for his session and added his dachshund, Sam, in a few of the photos, but I think Sam was much more interested in staying nice cool.
David, I hope your final year in high school is a ton of fun and is filled with great memories.
Let me begin with a little embarrassment. This session is near and dear to my heart because this is my niece, Alexis. As I will have a few more relatives graduating this year, Alexis, is the first to bang off the 2011 school year. I can’t believe what a beautiful young lady she’s become and how much she makes all of us so proud. And yes, going through her pictures made me a little teary-eyed. Boy, this is going to be an emotional year so I better get myself together right?
Alexis is a student of Forest Hills Eastern. She loves horses and she enjoys snowboarding. Her plans after high school are possibly attending Oakland University. Aside from being a student, she’s a great person and I’m proud to say she’s my niece!!
I hope you have you enjoy your senior year, Alexis. You make Chris and I so proud and we love you tons!!
I had the privelege to work with a State Champ on Thursday, as Devan was in for her much needed and last minute senior pictures. Devan comes from Allendale High School and has been involved with Cross Country and Track throughout her high school career. She plans on going to Michigan State University in the fall and work on a physical therepy program. She is a wonderful young lady with a great sense of humor. You know how I love people with a good sense of humor!! Devan wanted some winter pictures outside and we did just that. Downtown in February with a beautiful high school senior equals this:
Another high school student from Forest Hills Eastern, Avery is an upcoming graduate of 2010. Talk about impressive, I met with this young lady last Monday evening at Robinettes Apple Orchard after her dive practice. She’s also in the high school band, participated in the school’s Drama Club, and enjoys Japanese video games. If you ask her what her plans after high school are, she would tell you that she’s very interested in science and biology and is hoping study marine biology. We later concluded our session inside and outside the studio.

I hope you have a fantastic year in your final days at Forest Hills Eastern, Avery!!
I met with Amanda last Monday morning in downtown Grand Rapids for her High School Senior session and ended her session in downtown Rockford. She’s a 2010 upcoming graduate from South Christian High School. She is an avid soccer player and enjoys wearing colorful socks. She’s also a sweet young lady with a great sense of humor. Undecided as to what she would like to study in college, she still plans on just going with the flow and figure out what she likes and enjoys out of life. Sounds like my kind of girl.

Dan is a 2010 high school senior from Sparta High School. We met last Sunday at the studio but later wandered down to the Gerald R. Ford Museum getting many shots down by the river and bridge and even made it across the way towards the Amyway Grand Plaza. He’s a bright young man with a bright future ahead of him. He plans on attending Western University after high school.

Shane is another Class of 2009 High School Senior from East Kentwood High School. Our session yesterday began at the studio and later, outdoors over in the East Fulton area for some urban shots in the snow. It was certainly chilly outside but Shane was such a great sport and his session turned out amazing.
He enjoys playing soccer and is active in his high school Theatre Program. His plans for fall are to attend Grand Rapids Community College and enroll in their Law Enforcement Program and later tranfer to Grand Valley to finish up at their Police Academy.
