Jay, Jenny and Ava came in this evening for their first family session. What a beautiful family they are. Ava was quite the chatty one this evening but she only made for good entertainment as I was trying to get my shots of her. I don’t think I need to go into how much I love this family but I will say I just love them to pieces.
My niece will soon be 4 years old in a few weeks. I can’t believe it. I remember when I snuck home from Mackinac Island just in time for her to be born. I remember holding her and she stuck her tongue out at me. I remember later that Christmas year she had spit up a little on my arm and I gagged. Libby has broken me in as far as babies go. She gave me an opportunity to know what to expect before you can ever expect it. Nonetheless, I love her to pieces. She’s quick with the lip and has a good sense of humor in which I like alot in most 4 years olds. Of course the pictures won’t stop here though. There will be plenty more.
And of course there are some things that don’t change.
Happy Birthday, Sugar!
Another successful event for the Founders Brewing Company this year as they held their second annual Street Party. It was filled with live music, art, food, plenty of particpants, and of course, Founders specially brewed beer. What a perfect day to be outdoors and enjoy a nice cold one…or two…or three.
Kiera is an aspiring model looking to build her portfolio so I met with her this evening to capture a few shots for her very need.
Bryan and Imaree arrived to the studio this evening with their most beautiful addition, Izabella (Bella for short). It was only a few months ago Imaree had her BUMP session and now almost 3 months later comes back with her and Bryan’s sweet little girl. Baby girl started getting a little hungry towards the end but before the session had ended Bella crashed hard. It just took a couple bounces in Mommy’s arms and she was out like a light. I wish falling asleep was that easy for me.
…you will see me doing this.
My niece drank too much and shot the dog.
I was able to get one of my favorite little guys, Owen, to come into the studio for what will be almost 2 years. How much this guy has grown!! We got a chance to do some indoor as well as outdoor shots. His hands got a little dirty from the railroad tracks and thought it was funny to wipe it across his face. He’s such a funny guy.
Saturday was a wonderful morning for a family session down by the park. Four generations of family coming together and expressing how wonderful, beautiful, and special their family really is. The little ones are such hams and it so fun to watch them grow. I have been photographing them for several years now and it amazes me to see the changes in them and watching their personalities develop. I remind myself all the time that children teach you what it means to have a good sense of humor. If we weren’t able to laugh the little things off, we would be taking life way to seriously.
About 3 weeks before my race, I was riding my bike. And during the course of my bike ride, I am inches away from running over this baby turtle. I turned my bike around to make sure he’s still alive because he was all tucked underneath his shell. Instead of putting him back in the river he came out of, I shoved him in my jacket pocket like an 8 year boy and proceeded to ride back to my car. I kept him for about a month as means to keep him as my mascot for the triathlon. I named him Kamikaze because he was quick, slick, and crazy like a little ninja. He has currently been released back into the wild.
