So old friends of mine Stephanie and Chris finally tied the knot.  It was a warm afternoon and the weather was fantastic.  The ceremony was held in a quaint little Catholic Church,  Apostles of St. Mary in Sand Lake, MI.

I wasn’t particularly the photographer for her wedding as I was proudly her Maitron of Honor, but I had my husband bring the camera anyway so we can get a few shots of our own.

I get very excited when I see my husband doing so well behind the lens as he is usually my assistant at many photoshoots and events.

Good job, Honey!! Following the ceremony was a flawless reception at English Hills Country Club as the bride and groom were able to let their hair down.

Today on Absolute Michigan, my images were used again for Weird Wednesday:  Michigan Sea Monsters.

Mackinac Bridge in the fog.

The two images above were used as a composite to portray an eerie image.  It’s very exciting to have others use my work to tell their stories.  You can also view the story of my images here.

I had an amazing session this morning on Thornapple River at my friend, Heather’s home.

I walked down stairs to find a box that had not been open since 1999.  Inside was Heather’s wedding dress just aching to come outside and enjoy a good soaking in the river.

Girls and their dresses.

What made this session more special was that since then Heather has had three wonderful children in which her two daughters, Lindsay and Allison, enjoyed getting in their flower girl dresses and jumped in the river with mom.

It was so fun to watch white gowns floating around in the river.

After watching his sisters having so much fun in the river with Mom, Sam, finally joined in on some of the fun and even got a few shots with his siblings.

He also made a great assistant when he wasn’t in the pictures.

Back in February, my friend, Liz, and her family grew an extra two feet.  Her son Jackson was born so she needed to update summer pics with just the boys.

I was especially amazed when I saw who used to be the youngest Jacob.

I love seeing how much babies grow and develop.  He wanted nothing to do with pictures but a little candy was enough for him to sit still for a few shots here and there.  Then there is Jason, the oldest.

I was so impressed to see what a great older brother he is.  Truly, these boys were a great group of kids and I look forward to many more family sessions with them.

Towards the end of July, I headed back to Northern Michigan to visit a close friend of mine in Boyne City, MI.  I love coming up here for many reasons.  One mainly it being a place my family camps each summer in Young State Park.  Although, I don’t camp in the park much these days, I still have plenty of fond memories of my girlfriends and I coming up for a weekend and enjoying those dog days of summer.  Not very much has changed about this place since, which I suppose keeps my nostaglia strong.52 Boyne City, MIA pyramid sand sculpture.62 Boyne City, MII could not help but laugh at this poor kid.  I so badly wanted a picture more up close but the mother had the boys destroy their “creation” before I could even get the chance.43 Boyne City, MIMy friend, Sue, has a huge obsession with rocks in which I found quite amusing and before I knew it, I was joining with her rock collecting addiction.  I have to say I am impressed with her skill and technique when retrieving such fine gems.22 Boyne City, MIThis picture is for you, Sue.44 Boyne City, MIBarkley, their dog.12 Boyne City, MI

Back in early June, my girlfriends and I went camping in the Upper Penninsula in St. Ignace State Park for the weekend.  The first day was thick with fog and a lot of mosquitos.31 Playing Catch up.View from St. Ignace State Park.21 Playing Catch up.The following day we made a day trip into downtown St. Ignace for breakfast. 42 Playing Catch up.St Ignace lighthouse5 Playing Catch up.Shortly afterward, we headed toward Tahquamen falls for additional scenery.  It was my first time to Tahquamen falls and I was really impressed how serene the area was.6 Playing Catch up.Lower Falls8 Playing Catch up.Upper falls

And because it was such a warm and wonderful day, we got our feet a little wet at the end of the trails and enjoyed the beauty of Northern Michigan.9 Playing Catch up.

About six months ago some friends of mine gave birth to their second baby girl, Maryn.  She is the happiest baby I’ve seen so far.41 Added to the Family And of course their oldest, Allison, who was oh so shy that day, but I absolutely loved her pigtails.  3 Added to the FamilyBecause of their latest addition to the family, it was time to update their family portrait.  I love this picture with Daddy and his little girl.2 Added to the FamilyAnd of course the dog, Kramer, had to be in on all of the fun as well.  He knew what was going on and had to make his presence known. 1 Added to the Family
